Banyan Tree Group eyes Barbados and Bali

The Banyan Tree Group has announced it is planning to open resorts in Barbados and Bali by 2008 for both of its brands, Banyan Tree and Angsana.

The Singapore-based group recently linked agreements with Bacassa Developments (Barbados) Limited to build and manage a resort in the plush real estate development at Black Less Plantation, St Peter, Barbados, which will be built on an elevated five hectares parcel of land that overlooks the Caribbean sea.

"This is a very exciting time for the entire island of Barbados . The resort, 18-hole golf course and real estate, will be a perfect blend of East meets West. This will significantly shift the paradigm of the tourism product Barbados has to offer” Co-Director of Bacassa Developments Mark King said.

Another deal with Masuka Investment Group in Asia is to manage an Angsana Resort and Spa in Bali, Indonesia, and will result in the development of 31 apartments, 31 villas and an Angsana Spa in an exclusive cliff-side enclave overlooking the Southern Ocean coast.

"I am thrilled and delighted to announce our partnership with Banyan Tree Group, Asia 's leading luxury resort brand. The fine combination of stunning design, breathtaking location and now a first class manager will make Angsana Resort and Spa, Bali, one of Asia's premier resort destinations,” Co-Chairman of the Masuka Investment Group, Dermot Monaghan said.

Upcoming Banyan Tree hotels and resorts include locations in China, Bahrain, Koh Same, Mexico, Greece, Morocco and Dubai.
